I recently visited the Getty museum in LA. truely a wonderful experience. Its free to go and the collection is very impressive.

I was deeply inspired by all of the master portraiture I saw there. Titian, Cezanne, Rembrandt, Géricault, Renoir. So much more powerful in person then in print. Some ideas came to mind as far as technique.

Here I attempted to capture the presence of this young man from photo, while experimenting with technique. The background I hope further describes his character, as simple as it is.
